Blue Mountain Coffee
Beans and Why They are Popular
Why are
Blue Mountain coffee beans so popular with consumers? The Blue
Mountain coffee beans have a very clean taste, with a
noticeable sweetness. The flavor is bold, smooth and rich,
adding to the enhancement of the coffee. The regions where they
are grown characterize well known coffees. Climate and soil
qualities can make subtle changes to the flavor of the
resulting coffee. The tropical island of Jamaica has ideal
conditions for growing Blue Mountain coffee beans. It is widely
believed that Blue Mountain coffee beans are the finest in the
world. Coffee is not native to Jamaica. The then governor, Sir
Nicholas Lawes, brought Blue Mountain coffee beans to the
island in 1728. The Arabica beans flourished and now Blue
Mountain coffee beans are a major export. Japan is the largest
importer of Blue Mountain coffee beans.
Because Blue Mountain coffee
beans are the most desired coffee in the world, it is also one
of the most copied and mislabeled products. Tons of coffee
beans are sold every year purporting to be Blue Mountain coffee
beans that are really cheap blends, comprising a small quantity
of Blue Mountain coffee beans, or no Blue Mountain coffee beans
at all. Sometimes these coffee beans are labeled as "Blue
Mountain Blend", or "Blue Mountain Style", but beware, many
times it claims to be 100% Blue Mountain coffee beans, when it
simply is not.
